Alright bear with me here because this is going to sound silly... just spoke to a doctor who is advising patients they can also use 180 proof grain alcohol in the same way. It’s still better to wash hands with hot water and soap but worth a shot?

Yes, this is true, but as a T1D, I actually need rubbing alcohol regularly to clean the sites for my insulin pump and cgm. I haven’t been able to find rubbing alcohol on the shelves for days. Wiped out entirely. (I’m in Southern California.)

It’s only ridiculous if you can actually FIND rubbing alcohol in the store.
FYI There is no alcohol to be found anywhere, I’ve been searching pharmacies and stores for days.
