Think back about the greatest moments in US history. Name a few. Think of who led those achievements. Notice anything? I bet none of those moments you thought of were periods of status quo, led by people who said “meh.. that change is too pie in the sky.”
We are at a crossroads. We have two choices: more of the same, or people-powered change. How has the status quo been going? If you think “pretty good” I’m happy for you, but that means you haven’t met the people I have who literally aren’t sure how to *survive* until next month.
Our greatest moments have been when people stood up against the status quo. People who’ve realized we are still not equal and that the system is working exactly as it was intended, to further empower the rich and further oppress the working class.
It is OUR job as PEOPLE to break the system together and rebuild it for ALL of us! That is why I am begging you to please vote for @BernieSanders today, because he is the guy to lead this revolution. Vote @BrandNew535 and people-powered candidates down the ballot too!

I think about Obama running in 2008 on a hope, progress, and change platform, and then doing next to nothing to live up to his campaign slogan. That was pretty great!
Absolutely right, this is a moment where we can change everything. How many people are willing to think long term?
Thinking back and what I notice is all those achievements were led by the same group: old white men
To see Bobby Rush, of all people, debating (as Bloomberg's campain co-chair??) in favor of more gradual change with #MFA as the eventual goal is the biggest MEH moment I can think of. Can you imagine the fallout had he tried that in the 60s? One sellout after another.
