Today I had the privilege of speaking out for my community. Mount Sinai is wanting to cut costs by downsizing services available at Beth Israel Hospital, which is one of so many examples of profit being prioritized over our lives. A hospital company wants to boost profits by cutting costs and they think the best way to cut costs is to downsize available services for patients, their families, and visitors? Does anyone realize how insane that sounds?

What sort of community is Beth Israel in? Are they doing this to the gentrifiers or the not-yet-gentrified?

This is harming pregnant women, seniors, and the most vulnerable. Lemme share an illuminating set of articles that i was referencing in my testimony:https://nypost.com/2019/12/13/health-care-advocates-demand-answers-about-mount-sinai-beth-israel-relocation-plan/https://nypost.com/2019/12/13/health-care-advocates-demand-answers-about-mount-sinai-beth-israel-relocation-plan/ …

It bothers me that the reports of their new emergency room capacity from third parties are so much lower than their own claims. Red flag?

Everything about this is a red flag and I’m appalled that anyone is entertaining this.
