Sometimes I think about how this period of time will be discussed in future political science and history classes. A THREAD
I expect courses will look into what caused this movement. Among the reasons is the fact that politicians in the GOP *AND* Democratic Party have accepted PAC and lobby $$ and prioritized that over the best interests of the humans they sought to represent.
I mean can you imagine voting FOR war after taking defense contractor money? Voting against common sense gun safety because you get NRA money? Being complicit with gentrification and homelessness because you take big real estate money?
Now imagine the next lesson of that class is about the action that changed how our politics work. Representatives represented people, not profit, because the people united, voted, and protested the status quo. People said enough is enough. That lesson would be about YOUR actions.
This isn’t just a dream. This is a goal and it is achievable if we elect grassroots, people powered candidates like @BernieSanders and like my fellow @BrandNew535 slatemates.

Remember when many found out that they descended from people who were racist and oppressive towards minorities? I think this will feel the same in the future, for some.
What would they call this movement? The new socialist movement? The paleo progressive movement (referring to FDR progressivism from the 40s)? The Bernie-ist/Sanderist Movement?
This is why it’s so important to make sure we train thousands of historians ... and make sure there are jobs for them!
