You’d think most candidates would feel that way, but they don’t. My opponent certainly doesn’t, which means I’ll never outraise him. He can ask one CEO for one corporate PAC donation which I’d have to match with a few hundred small donations. It’s legal and disgusting. 3

This is why almost all members of Congress are self-funding multi-millionaires or are corporate-funded. It’s been the only way to afford running for office. I’m neither. (You can see why Congress lacks working class representation and needs publicly-funded elections) 4

I’m the underdog in my race–not just because I’m an insurgent candidate, but because the establishment knows I won’t sacrifice my principles and morals for campaign donations. They see that as my weakness, but I see it as a strength. 5

So what’s a progressive, unwilling to compromise their principles and morals for campaign donations, like me to do? 6

You get creative. You get scrappy. You raise enough to run your campaign your way and then you WORK YOUR ASS OFF. You knock more doors, make more calls, meet more people and get them and their friends involved too. 7

We can take back our Congress from the lobbyists that have broken Washington, but it’s going to take all of us, fighting and working to elect progressive candidates all across the country. 8

Yes, the nonstop emails, calls and posts asking for donations before the deadline are overwhelming, but it’s literally our future at stake. It’s also our only way to force our seat to a table that wasn’t built for us and that has actively tried to keep us away. 9
