We should consider decriminalizing sex work on the part of the seller - it would be helpful in combating human trafficking. Many sex workers are themselves victims.

It another way to deny a livelihood to sex workers. Sex work is work.

It’s most likely a very very small percentage of sex workers who does it out of free will, though. Here in Sweden we decriminalized selling (but not buying) 20 years ago and it was apparently very successful!

Im from Belgium and sex workers are extremely normal here even tho technically illegal they have their own shops and all and are pretty much all there out of free will. Netherlands is the same

Because we don't actually want sex work to be a bigger factor in the societal relationship economy, which depends on monogamy. We only want to prevent throwing in jail prostitutes who may themselves be victims of trafficking.

Allow me to chime in really quick! (Certified Human trafficking advocate here) Decriminalizing only the sex workers allows them to continue working (bc it is illegal now for both seller and buyer and it still happens only the worker can get prison time) 1/?

While yes I agree by not allowing it all to be legal is still criminalizing sex work, in the United States we have a large human trafficking ring that goes from California all the way to New York and in and out of other large cities. By making it legal for only the worker, 2/?

It's NOT safer. It inhibits the ability to screen clients, safely. It can lead to eviction from homes (being outed to landlords/unable to work safely, together), & STILL results in the arrest/criminalization of sex workers! It's the opposite of safer for us!
