This is a known scam. SO many people - myself included - go through this with every insurance change. Their hope is you'll pay out-of-pocket for a few meds and pad their bottom line.

I had this happen years ago with COBRA. Same insurance company, only I was paying through COBRA. Suddenly they didn’t know who I was! They literally pretended they didn’t know who I was and refused to pay for anything for months.
Shit, COBRA is the biggest offender. Every damn time I have to fight with them to accept that my work insurance has ended. I've even had this happen when my work insurance was provided by the same company as my COBRA. It's all a scam. People are dying and they just don't care.
