I used to live in Turtle Bay but now live in Long Island City (due to affordability). To answer your question regarding about how I’m substantially different, I want to point out that I believe nobody who accepts corporate PAC money can truly be prioritizing people over profit.
Seeing as Maloney has accepted big real estate money (one of her biggest donors is BlackRock), I cannot understand how she can claim to be against the very gentrification (you mention) that is pushing so many New Yorkers further and further out.

I want to break the stereotype that everyone who has ever worked in the financial sector loves capitalism. In fact, it is where I along with many others have become radicalized *against* capitalism.

Actually, real estate money is FAR more a problem on the city and state level. Esp in LIC, where it was touted as the "next big thing" for many years and finally took off when the state gave tax breaks to developers who broke ground by '08.
