not sure about this one. soft estimates already have loan forgiveness in the trillions (which I’m all for), but adding trillions more that could be spent on the massive price tag we must come up with for things like a green new deal should be prioritized
Copying in my friend @PolRevolutionSV who taught me about #MMT. This isn’t something we need to choose *either* loan forgiveness *or* saving the planet. It can and should be both.
We can and should increase taxes on corporations and billionaires and end war. But that’s separate.
Agreed ! Increased taxes on corps, stocks, annihilating billionaires, cut defense spending .... all will go a long way toward both. but retroactive loan forgiveness? . just from numbers I’ve seen, fiscal limits do exist. Maybe not. Appreciate yr optimism
