We need to fully fund NYCHA and also ensure management positions within all housing authorities across the country are held by people who know their communities best: current and former tenants. Families are allowed to live in dangerous conditions without true representation.
Two cents from far away: if the oldest housing authority in New York forces people to live in concentration camp conditions (mold, rats, floods, no heat or warm water, criminal neglect), their budget should be redirected to demolition and full victim compensation.
