Hey Lauren, this (tweet from Rob) is a mischaracterisation of what Bloomberg said in the clip. I understand people are pissed off with Billionaires but that doesn't justify spreading falsehoods. FTR, I'm not a Bloomberg supporter. Let's not become like MAGA folk.
Totally understand the original intent of the quote and it still horrifies me TBH. Characterizing taxes on cigarettes and soda as “poor taxes” is a super generalization and othering of people living in poverty.

Also, if we do see a negative correlation between cigarettes and wealth, then we need to address why. What are the causes of such a huge portion of our society living with so much stress? Can we help people without causing them *additional* financial stress?

% of my support as a progressive. However, the media likes to take things out of context and when people running for office (directly or indirectly) amplify falsehoods in public forums it is fodder for the media to use as 'evidence' against them.
