Everyone loves @AOC because she's a LEGIT New Yorker. You don't have to be born and raised like her or me. But you should at least speak about issues as if you actually experience them, not as if you read about it in the NYtimes or on twitter. For real.

WTF do I know though, we just live a rock's throw from the BQE and our eight-day-old child needs an air purifier, two white noise machines, and the fucking Newtown Creek on the other side of us floods with raw sewage and I have to tell my wife not to go out when it pours

Thank you Thomas and Bright! Forgive my long thread as a response as I just want to make sure I fully address your questions. The anger you feel at not having representation that advocates for the working class of NY-12 is truly justified and why I am running

The fact that our administration tried to intimidate our neighbors with a citizenship question on the census (even though it was removed) will likely prevent a lot of families from feeling safe enough to respond. Denying our district and city federal funding.

I am working with local groups and writing grants for them as part of my day job so we can ensure we correct this misinformation and help to ensure our fellow New Yorkers are counted and feel safe reporting.
