Yep. I’ve worked with and n them for the past 7or8 years. Not all are great, but the main one in our city is pretty good. What we have noticed is that many of these people don’t just need a house, they need addiction services, psychological help, and socializing assistance.
And we have failed by not providing access to the services they need. Which is why I’m fighting for single-payer Medicare for all with free mental healthcare and substance use disorder treatment. 1/2

A huge portion of homeless individuals in our city are children. Keep that in mind please as we discuss how people ended up on the street. Many families are only one emergency away from homelessness, and we need to build a system that prevents this.

Thats an entire different issue when children are involved. But again, giving the parents a house, isn’t going to help the reason why the parents were homeless to begin with. If kids are involved, they need to be place into DHS (as a parent I would never want for my child) 1/2
