I am always open to conversation. I just don’t think housing is a right when the shelters, that are free, aren’t even being taken advantage of.
I’m open to having a conversation too. Quick question: have you spoken with someone who has lived in shelters? Like actually sat down and asked them about their experiences?

Yep. I’ve worked with and n them for the past 7or8 years. Not all are great, but the main one in our city is pretty good. What we have noticed is that many of these people don’t just need a house, they need addiction services, psychological help, and socializing assistance.

And we have failed by not providing access to the services they need. Which is why I’m fighting for single-payer Medicare for all with free mental healthcare and substance use disorder treatment. 1/2
