That appears to be a misuse of funds. Wouldn't it actually cost less to just make the subway free than to pay for all this security to stop free riders

Not only that but the cost to society for criminalize poverty and throw people in prison for being too poor to pay for the subway...Is ridiculous. Our representatives have failed us. Make public transit free, Fund it through federal government, and end this madness.

Americans have a bad habit of blaming victims, and much of that is taught to us from an early age . Why then do we blame the victims of poverty & falsely accuse them of being irresponsible? Poverty is caused by the American Capitalist System!
