Billionaires are calculated with donations, nothing charitable about them.
“But that billionaire does philanthropy.” Me: They better. They pay less taxes than someone working 3 jobs to scrape by. Charity economy is created by taxing working people more than huge corporations and the top 1%. Note: working people volunteer and donate to charities too.

The fact that charity is needed because the government of the wealthiest nation on Earth cannot provide basic needs for its citizens is an indictment of that nation's government.

Starving the government of funds, then giving to charity is effectively giving the job of appropriations (a Congressional responsibility) to an unelected group of oligarchs. They've hijacked our government, and it's time to take it back.

Sad reality is that a lot of “philanthropy” is geared towards these billionaires increasing their wealth. Ask me about the Gates Foundation and education...yay! Every student with their own laptop for school! Online curriculum is often terrible and no substitute for teaching.

Meanwhile they’re hailed as heroes for giving 0.0001% of their income to a cause for PR and tax purposes, while average working people give a much higher percentage of their income to causes they care about...because they care.
