Not even trying to figure out billing foreigners seems to happen in public-hospital countries like the UK too. Ridiculous that US pols try to make that a bug: "You could pay for aliens' healthcare!" Fine! Make treaties w/ Canada & Mexico & cover all of us in all 3 countries!
I owed $0 to be treated for an infection in Germany. They said it was going to be too complicated to figure out how to bill a foreigner so they told me to pay them by staying healthy.
