I'm concerned about the number of multiple primary challengers to incumbent Dems... Arguably matters less in CA w/ their top 2 primary, but still, look what happened in CA12 in 2018: So many progressives challenged Pelosi last year that the sole Republican ended up coming in 2nd.

1/ There will be at least two candidates in the field against Pelosi and Frank Pallone too. In the first case, I don't know Agatha and I know Shahid a little. Easy choice for me. Shahid only jumped into the race at the last minute and still did better than the other progs.

2/ I think with his early start this time and the Twitter steam he is building, @ShahidForChange will definitely take the number two spot. I have spoken with both the guys running for Pallone's seat. I'm helping @Cirincione2020 actively, but @jw4congress2020 is a good guy too.

3/ I am pretty confident that they willkeep in touch and either Russ or Javahn will drop out at the right time to give the other a chance to win. Either would be a big improvement over Pallone but Russ really impressed me with his reason for running.

There's also two NYC districts with multiple challengers. 3 ppl running against Engel. Lindsey Boylan & Amanda Frankel both challenging Nadler. If there was RCV / approval voting & running for office so expensive, it wouldn't matter...

And unfortunately politics often brings out the worst in people (even good people) so I've seen a lot of fighting over 2nd place. Stephen Jaffe alluded to other progressive candidates saying lies about him in an attempt to get votes in 2018.

We shall see. Agatha's backing is from people who may have a grudge against Shahid after losing the last time.
