Nethermind is ready to be stateless. The full beam sync (with full state being downloaded in the background) should be added soon and below is a stateless client (just headers and bodies downloaded) that serves the past account values.

  2. Translation to social-democrat speak: "If we had more proper robust publicly funded services, we wouldn't have so much of our society taken over by powerful corporations offering second-rate privatized substitutes" Interesting the parallels. So so interesting.

Three ways for startups to exit: - aggressive fundraising and eventually, public offering. - get acquired or sell to a competitor. - incrementally, exit to community. The crypto movement is all about E2C. Amazing read:

Through growing pains, Gitcoin Grants Round 4 was a huge success. The $344K ($144K from 1K unique contributors) reminds 230 projects that the community supports them - literally. The results, top 10 projects, and future plans below 👇🏽

How important is it to you that Gitcoin Grants adopts a policy of "Credible Neutrality"?

  9. Reminder: "shards are basically sidechains" is as incorrect as "block bodies are basically a sidechain of the block headers". See "tight coupling" here for the key property that shards and block bodies have that sidechains do not.

  11. I know I'm in the minority on this issue, but every time I see an article like saying defi gives you the ability to "take out loans with no paperwork" I still cringe...

Another thing that you might miss, it’s that some funding went directly to Ethereum communities development, for example Colorado and Honduras. It will be interesting to monitore how the funding provided for meetups and training will impact next round.

Great report! It's also worth noting that of the top 5 tech grants, 4 had their first money come from DAOs, proving their success in identifying and signal boosting promising projects to the community.

  16. But in general "Vitalik and other EF elites have wrong opinions about what kinds of work are valuable" is an argument that plays right into quadratic funding being great and very important 😅. Seems like the case is strong that QF grants are at the least valuable as a complement.

  17. And even the comparison with ethhub was in that case wrong because ethhub got funds in round 3 whereas antipro did not.

  18. More criticism of my criticism of gitcoin grants results. I actually didn't even realize that people were interpreting the grants as "backpay"; I was thinking about them as compensation for work done after round 3.
