Police have now surrounded and asked the apparent impersonator to come with him, he says his name's Howard, was just cheering and looks like this, and didn't commit any crime. Refuses to go with them. South Korea police apparently unsure what to dopic.twitter.com/pGzvV0ufcq

He speaks English with UK accent, no Korean. They've now told him he broke a rule against making political statements. He responds: "I just showed up with my flag and my face... If you don't like my face there's nothing you can do about it, I was born this way."

They've now taken him into a room in the hallway and closed the door.pic.twitter.com/x2MT4MAVAj

I don't speak Korean either, but my sense was police didn't know what to do with him. If he was breaking a rule or just making an obvious commotion and drawing a crowd. This just happened in front of me, and I'm unlikely to find out more. Maybe we'll hear Howard's story later.

Seems he was released. Caught him walking out, waving as high school girls laughed. "Cosplay!" they giggledpic.twitter.com/xnFlco2UjC

He's not just a guy from Australia. It's much more interesting than that. I found out more about Howard's story, and I wrote thishttps://theoutline.com/post/3405/kim-jong-un-impersonator-korea-japan-womens-hockey-olympics …

The uk has lots of impersonators who think are comedians/celebrities for example
@RealLeeNelson -
He's from HK not the UK.
-
You sure? Independent just says based in Hong Kong - do you have further info. Accent sounds English to me
-
HK was a former colony of the English til the late 90s. Also he goes back and forth to Brazil, he plays in some Brazilian Chinese fusion band Bossa Negra. I read it earlier I don't know.
-
All from independent article linked above but it said based in Hong Kong not from Hong Kong, you where quick to correct someone when not sure of your facts
-
Don’t correct until you know your facts was my point
-
But he was right.

It looks like pretending to be KJU at international sporting events is this guy's thing. A "Howard" did the same thing at Rio 2016.http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/north-korea-kim-jong-un-rio-2016-impersonator-lookalike-trick-athletes-olympics-a7205611.html …

Someone please tell the minders that this is South Korea NOT North Korea! I don’t think they should be allowed to push him aside or have him expelled or escorted out! Better not to send the cheerleaders in the first place if you are so scared of them being exposed to free speech!
-
This isn't about free speech when the guy wants attention & to start something. He has to stop. It's funny when one dude did this in NYC but at the actual Olympics? Where the dictator could know and find it as an insult. That could sour relationship easily. Think about that.
-
We dont cater to the feelings of evil ruthless dictators
-
And we most certainly don’t glorify their evil sisters either
