It is probably worth noting that the Red Cross already distributes medical aid within Venezuela and warned the US government against an aid scheme that does not collaborate with de facto authorities. Maybe I should add I have personally sent aid to Venezuela, a few of my friends there have (tragically) asked for help caring for their families. I just sent cash. For what it's worth, these friends have had enough of Maduro. I just want us to be honest about what's happening.

Good to see Red Cross now able to offer a bit of help, but aid shipments often have been slowed or even blocked. http://www.el-nacional.com/noticias/salud/por-que-llega-ayuda-humanitaria-venezuela_213192 … https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/venezuela/article199179509.html … https://www.wsj.com/articles/venezuelans-die-as-maduro-government-refuses-medical-aid-1523025805 … Official aid like UNHCR has mostly gone to Brazil & Colombiahttps://www.dw.com/en/un-chief-offers-colombia-help-with-venezuela-migration-crisis/a-42139809 …

Man I really don't get this issue, how in the world does accepting aid "admit your model is a failure" or something, and how do some orgs operate and some others not. Wish I had the time to report and write a piece on this

In reality it is being done this way simply as publicity stunt. You have to buy conscience both of people and military in order to justify any sort of intervension from outside. I'd say generally people would welcome an internal coup. But on fence if from outside.
