I have concerns that we seem to think we can assess and treat the bio-psycho-social. We are treating people not elements of people and as much as the psychosocial drum is being banged so is the 'we have forgot the bio'. Treat the person. In my opinion... We still don't know s***

My wife and I never talk to our kids. We ask them to submit all communications anonymously through rigorous and double-blind peer review. My daughter is 5 and has 21 publications in high-impact journals. My daughter can burn holes in furniture using only her eyes

My husband and I never talk baby talk to our kid. We enforce work-related topics. My child isn’t even 2 yet and can draw the PI3 kinase pathway. Adults at family gatherings are shocked when my child explains the importance of model organism research.

When reviewing/editing any work of science I try to ask "what is the minimum amount of extra work required to make this good enough". Often I get the feeling scientists ask for a lot of extra work as a way to show how seriously & thoroughly they did their job as reviewers/editors

If you are a biologist who wants to brush up on their stats knowledge - this is fabulous! Particularly check out lectures on uniform p values (1.2) and p value Nomo curves (3.1).

The number of years a person has spent in lab is directly related to the amount of supplies they secretly hoard.

Excellent article about how understanding the different types of pain will help us find better treatments. There's simply NOT just one pain!
