    The 2018 -2022 CIDP sought to accelerate infrastructure development with focus on quality & functionality. Focus in this area is Road Infrastructure which is imperative in the socio-economic transformation of the County.

    Today's mentorship program saw female students receiving free sanitary pads besides also being trained against irresponsible behaviors. Vihiga County Government will issue face masks and sanitizers to the students once they get back to schools.

    According to ECDE Acting Chief Officer Dr. Mary Anyienda, most pupils do not understand protocols set by the Ministry Of Health in regard to combating COVID-19 and thus there is need for additional knowledge to the learners before they resume school.

    Dr. Ottichilo however asked the students to take their education seriously in order to achieve their dreams in the coming years,stating that ECDE pupils will resume their studies one month after the official opening of primary and secondary school levels.

    This was done through a mentorship program held today at Praise Center church in Mbale. While addressing the students,@GovernorVihiga said that the world is entering an era in which only people who can easily adapt to lifestyle dynamics will survive.

    In his remarks,Dr. Ottichilo welcomed the self assessment program,stating that it gives Kenya an opportunity to be assessed by the African Union which is an independent body that gives out findings without biasness & interference thus enhancing political and development agenda.

    Bioversity International is a research organization that assesses the effectiveness of a participatory approach on food nutrients intake in our community. The project,which has been in Vihiga since 2014,increases dietary diversity among women&children.
