    A man has been arrested after a stabbing that left another man with serious injuries in Melbourne’s CBD last night.

Investigators have been told a man entered a convenience store at the corner of Franklin and Elizabeth streets around 11.30pm.

The shop attendant confronted the man after he allegedly attempted to steal an item, and a scuffle broke out between the pair.

The offender allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the shop attendant, who was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

    Eastern Region Division 1 Crime Team detectives have released images of two men they are looking to identify as part of their investigation into an armed robbery at an apartment in Box Hill last December.

Police have been told the two men entered the apartment on Wellington Street about 6pm on Thursday, 29 December.

The men produced a sawn-off shotgun and stole a large quantity of cash and fled the premises.

    Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to eleven bush/grass fires in the Chepstowe area.

The fires were allegedly lit by the man between December 2021 and May 2022.

    Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in the CBD this evening.

It appears a truck and a cyclist collided at the intersection of La Trobe and King streets about 5.10pm.

Sadly, the cyclist died at the scene.

    Detectives from the Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit (SIIU) have today charged two men on summons in relation to an investigation into suspicious betting activity relating to an esports league.

“The Victoria Police Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit has previously investigated suspicious activity linked to esports betting and it remains an area of focus for us.
