If this had been dealt with at the time the bloke involved would have been out of prison by now, probably thirty years out of prison or more. Taking action now isn’t justice it’s retribution. #VictoriaLive

I agree if historical overwhelming evidence is available as in this case then prosecution should take place as a child of sexual violence clearly is a victim of a crime and should be able to report as a victimless prosecution due to the impact this crime has has on their life

At the time, there was a 12 month limitation period to prosecute sex with a girl between 13 and 16. So with the best will in the world, the CPS can’t prosecute. Thankfully the law has now changed, but the change doesn’t apply retrospectively.
