In my book “Kushner Inc.,” I examined this conflict of interest with Oscar. For example, sources told me Jared kept trying to get his brother Josh involved in the shaping of a new health care bill. (Jared denies this.)

I learned that someone who had worked in accounting at Kushner Co. started to ask about an entity that had appeared in the financials: BFPS. BFPS, this person was told, stands for “Brothers First, Partners Second.” It may be a vehicle for an arrangement Jared had talked about.

The way he described the arrangement, in detail, to a former business associate, was that each brother gives 50% of his profits to the other, so as to avoid disagreements.

If such an arrangement existed, it is possible that it changed when Jared went into the White House. However, a BFPS Ventures was listed on Jared’s financial disclosure forms. (A spokesman for Josh said there is no such arrangement and this is “completely and utterly untrue.”)
