I agree with that, but I still think the debt for some degrees is ridiculous.

Thought of you when I saw this quote. “How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.” Ronald Reagan

When was the last time you read an economics book?
-
Ain’t some economic theory whiz but Wouldn’t it go more towards eliminating student loans and making it more affordable then actually devaluing a college education ? I’m assuming Not everybody would actually make it thru.
-
What happens is very few make it into Higher Education, and the few that make it in compete hard in order not to be kicked out. Focus on the word *few* because it won't be universally available like it is now when *paid for individually*

Not to mention, a lot of people wouldn’t get into college. Ironically, those students who have the monetary resources to become top scholars, who are more likely to be accepted to “free college”, go for free, while everyone else gets screwed.
-
FWIW, most of the places socialists love with low cost / free university have very rigorous standards for admission. The sorting is brutal. Either you're gonna make it when your in high school or you're forever locked out. There's no "get your sh*t together at 23" option.

Yeah free college sounds nice in theory and if it was free? Good luck with the competition with that degree you got, that 1000s of others got as well. Imagine it. Not one of these “socialists” think about long term, just wants gotten for free at the time.
-
Also, it wouldn’t be free. It would be tax payer subsidized which means Timmy, the 19 y/o auto mechanic, would be paying for Jason, the 18 y/o criminal justice major, who would then graduate to pay for Sarah the 20 y/o med student. How about we just all pay for our own shit?
-
Exactly.

In a lot of places like St cloud Minnesota they already are. My ex ran a car dealership. She was shocked at how many applicants she had with master's degrees applying for a receptionist job she had posted. Meanwhile we can't hire a decent machinist to save our lives.
-
But hey, in St Cloud if you go to the mall, you can win a free terrorist stabbing!
