@VesselOfSpirit effective altruism shows up in the "taking ideas seriously" community, but the ideas are pious hypocrisies. -

@VesselOfSpirit but the reason it seems true is that everyone endorses it, but the reason that everyone endorses it is not that it's true -
@VesselOfSpirit not in the "well there's no objective morality really but we're all humans here" sense, it's not even human morality. -
@VesselOfSpirit people endorse it because it's the sort of thing that's polite to endorse and leads to better cooperation -
