if you duplicated the earth and replaced all the scientists with resurrected versions of all the scientists of the past, which world would make faster progress?

In the past science was rare profession, only those who felt it their calling became scientists. Today it is simply a trade. Thus lots of scientists of the past were splendid scientists, whereas most of today's scientists are just diligent copycats. 1/2
-
Also the negative selection against geniuses today. If one considers how many revolutions in science were done by scientists of the past and compare to zero revolutions in science since 1930's - answer is obvious 2/2
