it's probably going to take humans (and/or their descendants) less time to conquer the galaxy than it took them to conquer the earth

But yes, I meant that as a way of saying there’s a non-negligible probability that we can overcome any seemingly insurmountable challenges to near-lightspeed travel, and who knows maybe even beat lightspeed
