I want to really cause physical pain to the person who made windows movie maker. It's a quarter to 3am and I don't want to bother explaining

get Vegas, premiere is such a nightmare to learn from the get go. MM is easy mode, Vegas is normal, premiere is hard.
Premiere does seem complex, but I've seen people use Vegas. I haven't seen Final Cut Pro yet so that might be an option.
