I think I'm going to commit to streaming on YouTube for now on. I'm honestly never going to go anywhere on Twitch and most of my yt subs refuse to watch me on any other platform so I'm going to adapt rather than blame myself for low view counts for once.

YouTube is far more toxic and mean compared to Twitch chat, but I'll deal with that instead of being in a constant state of tedium. I'll start putting this into effect sometime soon.

Just the fact that there's a younger audience on YouTube who constantly spam, self promote, and are generally really mean to people. It could go the other way if I had an older audience but I'm a smashtuber so that isn't happening

It's probably also a cause of correlation not being causation. You get less viewers on Twitch, meaning those who join you on Twitch are bigger fans of your content. I'd say Twitch chat would be just as toxic if you had identical viewership strictly in terms of numbers

I never thought about that tbh. Welp I guess that's one more reason not to bother with Twitch anymore since toxicity can't be helped either way.
