It's the same studio as ever, they just went for a radical character design and art style change so they could animate better and faster. I hope they keep that style, or even improve it for the sword/shield anime.
I hope the animation studio who worked on the Sun and Moon anime come back for Sword and Shield. Everything about S&M just felt more vibrant and and emotional and the movement added so much more life to the world of Pokemon compared to every other iteration of the show imo.

Good news, it's the same studio, this was them switching to a more digital production, a larger focus on fluid easy to animate designs and just a revitalization of the Pokemon plot, so the anime should be in good hands

as much as i’m not really a fan of the premise and writing of sun and moon your absolutley correct it looks pretty great aesthetically most of the time

Oof... I miss X&Y style so bad. Felt like in S&M they made Ash even MORE of a kid and it was almost unbearable to watch when he was already a kid in the first place. I personally wish they never changed the styles; I enjoyed the older ones so much more
