What I'm hoping to see from Sword and Shield is a more interesting battle system. I love Pokemon, but playing with the same turn based combat with barely any deviation for a majority of the mainline games is repetitive and boring imo.
If I were to add anything to Gen 8 I'd make the combat feel a lot more like it does in the anime with how trainers sometimes give their Pokemon special commands instead of just telling them to use a move, like when Ash fought Paul with Pikachu against his Magmortar.pic.twitter.com/hluulMFrxe
