I agree that the statue has no relevenace to our area. It’s not even original art and is embarrassing to our art scene. Plus the whole rapey vibe

Nothing says progressive modern city that will attract businesses and vital newcomers like a monument to both the end of a war from 75 years ago, especially given that we've been at war almost continuously since then, AND an nonconsensual sexual assault from last century. Cool.

If keeping that statue keeps progressive ideology out of SRQ I'd vote to line the streets with depictions just like it.

@GoodforFlorida We all have choices to make. If this is your "work" then it's nothing but fluff. Care to address COVID in our schools and infecting our communities. Listen to science to end this nightmare. Vote

We must reject political correctness and embrace our history. That statue is a work of art.

As a survivor of sexual violence I find this art unappealing and out of place any where. Being in a focal point of the city is is particularly inappropriate.

You have more pressing work than this. The tourism and service industries are suffering and the unemployed desperately need help. This statue “issue” is another thing dividing our community, and in the grand scheme of things it’s SO unimportant.
