Today marks the 75th anniversary of VJ Day when Japan surrendered and we won WWII. The “Unconditional Surrender" statue is an iconic part of Sarasota's Bayfront and represents a celebration of that day in 1945. I have heard from many veterans and others in our community who strongly support keeping the statue where it is and I agree -- it should not be relegated to a less prominent location. (2/2)
