Please change your verifier to use a separate notation for BMD w/ paper backup versus hand marked paper ballots. It's a distinction with a difference, and you can be a valuable source of accurate information.

Agree that computer-marked ballots must be kept to a minimum if results are to be verified. But even if they were to be verified by voters, the ballots would remain unverifiable by auditors, and so unsuitable as audit evidence by established, generally accepted audit standards.

If the human readable portion of the ballot is verified by the voter, and the human readable part is checked by the auditor, how is it not auditable?
