I'm pretty sure I could drive a bus past cars parked legally here though I do not intend to test that theory.

Described this area (105 Ward St) as a "Target rich environment" to a city Customer Service operator.
Ticket at will, my friends. There is no excuse for parking like this and damaging the sidewalk

Is Candid Camera still a thing? Because I think they were filming my coach today, especially the last trip. Total chaos...
Today on Volts: some geeky fun! There is a circuit breaker between every single electrical device & the grid. I talk with the inventor of a *solid-state, digital* circuit breaker, which could make every device "smart." The possibilities are limitless!

I'm kinda bummed since 6205 (along with 6203, 6211, and 6234) had stable AC/Heating. Most of the other 6200 series coaches have climate control systems that reboot themselves ... Every ... Time ... I ... Service ... A ... Stop... 🙄

It's almost like anything wearing the color red is prone to disaster. Where have I seen this phenomenon before? 🖖

I'm interpreting the lack of a response as "No" or you're just as overwhelmed as everyone else in the org. To be clear, this question comes as a passenger though, to be honest, I've mostly given up riding.

"Fuck the haters"
Congratulations on the win. After you're done spiking the ball may I suggest asking why I-135 received only 53% of the vote while the last housing levy passed with 68% of Seattle voters saying "yes" to more taxes 🤔

Sinking bridges in this region is a thing. Another good reason to start Eastlink service before issues with track across the bridge are resolved.

February 13, 1979. 44 years ago, a 100-mph windstorm breaks up half of the #Hood Canal Floating Bridge.
Ferries once crossed the canal near this point, but emergency service was not an option and drivers were rerouted for 3 YEARS until it reopened. #wawx

"The average forklift weighs about 4.5 tons, more than twice that of an average-size car."
... and the average 60' bus weighs about 5-6 times what an average forklift weighs so I've always felt safer on a bus.
Sadly, buses don't work for everyone's commute or errands 😢

Received "miss" at work after calling in sick but wasn't put on the "sick list". Not a huge deal since I just need to see a chief. But... It's 2023. Can't we have an automated process to email proof of sick status?

ALL your emails in 1 thread? Damn... This makes my old manager look tame, by comparison. He never deleted any emails and had to sift through the whole kit and caboodle when I mentioned an email I had sent to him

Bonus: School buses are mobile energy dense backup batteries as well. It's early days but there are options for equipment that can connect those batteries to Hospitals or other critical services. Imagine all those buses as well...

Well... This was unexpected... I picked a 545. 3 AM trips in the morning. Next thing you know, I'll pick Bellevue Base for the rest of my career and the cycle will be complete. Country Club, here I come! (No, not really.)

Yesterday's winner: Watching (I think) YouTube videos while waiting to merge on I-5 near Madison St exit. Thought driver was letting me in (huge gap). Nope, distracted and quickly accelerated once driver realized bus was merging in front 🙄

I'll miss London Plane but if this place is good and not as upscale, it'll be a welcome replacement.

I failed my required PII training quiz at the county. Apparently, I'm a clear and present danger to others in my org because I didn't know what GLBA or FISMA were. Thankfully, I knew what FERC and HIPAA so not all is lost 😉
Excited to share this film.

Finally figured out the best spot for him to go and grab another bus and let him know over the PA that I had an answer for him.

All because Greta Thunberg owned him so hard his little wee-wee fell off.

Don't recall ever hydroplaning in a bus but I'm sure it happens, especially out of East, North, and South Bases where they have more freeway routes.

If you find yourself hydroplaning, you aren’t going to be able to control your vehicle with the steering wheel.
What's the first thing you want to do when it comes to approaching standing water to avoid hydroplaning?
