Besides there is no way OW succeeds as an esport without it being enjoyable to watch. Risking a lot of money on a bad product is a bad idea.

Overwatch is criticized (justly) for having a horrible viewer experience. OGN by far had the best viewer experience and that was still bad.

it would be fairly simple to make the experience enjoyable so hopefully that is whats gonna happen

They have spent a lot of time and resources on it and nothing so far. You can't have a billion dollar league without millions of viewers.

Just putting this out there... There has been 1 blizzard promoted tournament, the World Cup, and it had over 100k viewers.

MSI groups right now with two teams no one in the west cares about, Western viewers currently over 200k. LoL slot is worth ~$1.5-2mil

If you are saying OWL is worth what Blizzard says it is, they would have to reach a larger audience than the current largest esport.

I want OWL to succeed because it will be the next big steps into securing an esports market place, but right now it will set the scene back.

Can't compare LCS slots to OWL franchises. Completely agree with Krashy, it's apples and oranges. LCS u can get cucked like Schalke 1/2

Losing your Spot in the LCS because you get demoted after 1season, completely irrelevant what an LCS spot costs compared to OWL.

Frankly it is the only system close that has been successful on a large scale. Also, franchising is starting shortly.
