I understand the need for safety, but the optics are not good. This is supposed to be the cutting edge of science and space exploration but our feeble human selves are going to be thwarted by some rain showers?

Maybe setting up a launch pad in a part of the Country that doesn’t have a 50% of daily thunderstorms would be a better idea? Does that require too much planning ahead?

Its Not just weather in the area of Launch they have to Account for. They look at weather almost all over earth... Especially crewed missions they wont take any chances, even If it would most likely Go well anyways.
