So if I'm playing Fornite in an event. Someone kills me and dances on my body. I get heated and happen to know their preferred landing locations. I'm not allowed to go after him in next round?

It's technically fine, you won't get banned, (at least nobody has yet) but its definitely considered poor sportsmanship.

Guys I'm saying the community sees it that way, because in a tournament one huge game can change everything. People see abandoning your spot and landing on 1st place/someone who killed you/made you mad as throwing your own tournament out of spite so they make less.

I have a hard time understanding this, because if you know who is first place, and know where they drop, doesn't it make sense to try and knock them out next game? And if you're in first place wouldn't it also make sense to change your drop so that doesn't happen?

I do understand why this is bad, and agree with people disliking the kinda mentality. That being said, my comment also questions the meta as a whole, as it really doesn't make sense to me and doesn't seem like it's the best way to actually win a tournament.

In an ideal world you're right. However you have to consider that people practice the same drops for long periods of times, meaning If you change your drop to land on someone else you are inherently at a disadvantage. And even if you win the early game fight chances are 1/2

You are in a bad spot because you will need to waste time, heals and mats to fight the Player. All of which leads to you having to regain these resources tbrough more fights (again risk) or playing with bad resources.

I understand this yeah, it's all true, but isn't that also just playing fortnite? Is a competitive player supposed to be playing something that isn't FN? Current competitive FN plays nothing like the actual game everyone else plays, and you can't say that about any other esport.
