Just compare rerun viewers vs live viewers of channels currently using Rerun feature. It definitely heavily impacts viewership. There is no reason to believe it wouldn't just because drops are active. It'd just be on a different scale because of AFK viewers not realizing.
Also one big thing is that reruns are specified as such on the follower page, which stops alot of people from watching and instead choosing to watch someone live
