especially now that so many games are moving to the F2P model, I feel like the expectation for multiplayer focused games is F2P with micro transactions. the smallest barrier for entry possible just ropes up the most ppl especially where this is genre hype.
im a little worried about valorants model where you have to unlock some of the agents, seems like it doesnt fit the game, but i also dont think it'll stop the games popularity

well, I think that it is fine for their largest market, china, where it's super normal to sink money into the game to unlock things. Additionally I think the competitive incentive will keep people in it for NA. The hardcore CS fans who just wanted CSGO 2 aren't staying anway
