is it bad that if I see a multiplayer game that costs money, and it's somewhat competing against other similar titles, I instantly assume it's just DOA
Pretty much is nowadays, unless its made by an established publisher/developer (e.g. OW)

yeah that's what I mean, and even then, it's not guaranteed to make it, take Gearbox with Battleborn, that was DOA, probably mainly due to launching right next to OW lmao

especially now that so many games are moving to the F2P model, I feel like the expectation for multiplayer focused games is F2P with micro transactions. the smallest barrier for entry possible just ropes up the most ppl especially where this is genre hype.
