it doesn't conceal the streamers name. if it did, we'd all use it.

What would it replace your name with, to not stand out when only a [generous] hundred players use it? What about your banner; is it not equally identifiable?

Maybe apply the streamer mode to any place where the name would show ??????

And "to not stand out" when the kill feed has Wraith1234 slaying out; wearing her signature blue, orange, and bald on the banner rocking 25K kills?

Worse if you're
@ShivFPS (saw him on the thread, let's wrangle him here) slaying as Bang1234 -- a legend less picked by streamers. Should his banner show nothing -- 100K kills to identifiable? Should his cosmetics be randomized?2 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

Randomize the name and have an option to be able to randomize your banner for stats etc, also an option to randomize your cosmetic every time u go into a game so aka every game my name is hidden the stats are random and my skin is different just like how fortnite has it

Any opinions on how the name is randomized? My coder brain still thinks it'd be identifiable as a streamer with out a huge corpus, while staying within ToS.

Could do it like Xbox or Fortnite AI names, they have a list of words and put 2 words in a row and some numbers at the end... like FunnyOrange57, most of the time it's noticeable that it's a generated name but there's always that "maybe not"

It's precisely that kind of name I think is easily identifiable as one that's generated and would then not serve its purpose. Mixed feelings on these being available in tournaments, but that's for a different discussion. :P

In terms of Tournaments, i think the best way to disguise names would be TeamA_1 TeamA_2 TeamA_3 TeamB_1 etc. Because u don't wanna give away their Legend but still want to know if they're of the same team or not.

In terms of those generated names being identifiable i agree, but there's honestly not a better way around, and this one at least makes it less obvious to those who aren't aware whether a person is currently streaming under streamer mode
