The concept of hero bans is unnecessary complexity. Drafting has a lot of depth in mobas, but this is an element that doesn't carry over to Overwatch. Bans work in mobas with the premise of heroes filling similar roles and only one map. In OW, maps influence the power of heroes

Bans existed and worked in HOTS. Tons of different maps and different strengths per hero for each map, it would work the exact same in Overwatch.
