Okay groundbreaking idea here... if theres so much outcry in the community that you feel the need to make a blogpost to explain why you added a certain item to the game, chances are... the community doesn't want it, and certainly not any future renditions of it? @FortniteGame

I do understand what the problem is. Whenever you develop an ongoing game, you have to balance out how much power you give the community in terms of input for game design, and how much you do yourself. It's a really difficult thing to do, because both comes with big risks...

Their choices have gotten them so far, and i'm fairly sure that even the sword is widely accepted by the very very casual players (families playing on their couch etc.) as they really don't care if they get 1shot by a sword, because they get 1shot by a player spamming 90s...

on a daily basis, they're used to it. It's the one game where they manage to get 10 kills and a win (whether its with the sword and a plane or not) where they will forget all those deaths and realize how much fun they had. The problem is, those people don't advertise your game.

And they don't go on reddit and say how much they love fortnite. We just don't get to see that really. It's up to epic to balance how much they want to cater to the vocal minority with (potential) loss of casual customers
