I remember crazy patches in League that made me go "this is nuts, I cant wait to get home and try this out!" as I read through the new features they added or the large changes they did. Not really getting excited for patches anymore, might just be me though. Thoughts?

In overwatch it's very easy to tell what the big change will be because you have to deal with stupidly broken shit for 5 months until it changes, so even when they do finally fix it you don't feel excitement

That's a good point actually. Overwatch patches don't really make me happy, sometimes they just stop me from being sad.

I think also having some meaningful "end" and a "reset" where everyone has to learn new shit for a few weeks is very healthy and exciting. Having to deal with rune/mastery/map reworks was always super interesting. Overwatch you just wait for someone to find the stupid shit

Yeah exactly. Most new patches as a coach are just "These characters are good, how did we used to play them?". I want some big new thing that really forces people to innovate. The last thing I remember that REALLY got me excited was the 40% ult charge nerf, dramatic change!

To be honest, even that didn't really change that much. Sure, it made ults more rare, but the overall gameplan is still the same, just with more emphasis on executing the actual plan you had and not being "whatever we wasted blade we have it in a minute back" now u have it in 2..

The patches in League and Dota change much more than that imo
