Not really. You can just hide, build cover and survive. It is not a survival game and folks are playing just to survive the longest not because it takes skill but because it pays more. If the storm is getting more elims than any player something is wrong with the format.
Well they had the storm edge destroying builds in the game before, and apart from how extremely buggy and laggy that was, it really was not enjoyable at all as a player. Basically, people on high/midground just fell onto people below them which caused random 50/50 fights in a box

I've been saying this for a while, but this would fix a lot of the issues currently in the game imo: Change max mats to 500 each, increase mat farm and maybe introduce some way of getting mats and/or resources (ammo? shields? health?) when you get a kill. Midgame fights would 1/2

become significantly more reasonable. It's just way too risky currently to take a (midgame) fight in any way other than spamming splodes on a turtled enemy and quickly ending that fight (with or without killing them) to avoid getting 3rd partie'd or wasting tons of mats.

Maybe have a warning that the storm is not damaging builds. That should make it less random. But I can imagine the would suck to fall randomly.

Those Changes just seem like such artificial bandaids to the problem of too many players being alive lategame If that makes sense.
