What about help for those of us on cppd? Canada pension plan disability we are not seniors.
NEW: Feds announce extra $ for seniors - $300 one time payment if you're eligible for the Old Age Security (OAS) pension, $200 if you're eligbile for the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). If you get both the OAS and GIS, you'll get $500. Program worth $2.5 billion.

@JustinTrudeau believe that the people that fought for the rights for students to be able to obtain an education, deserve so little? There r foreign students living in other countries get $2000/mth, but seniors get a one time pymt of $300? -
Just to explain to you how it works.. most seniors are already receiving CPP and OAS , what they are doing is increasing the payments. So you can’t compare it to the other programs as they have been receiving government payments every since they retired, this just increases it.

So the least amount of support for the most at risk & vulnerable. All after paying a lifetime of taxes.

We seniors are ok...we have not lost jobs. Our pensions have not disappeared. It is the working poor who lost jobs that are the most needy.

Should scrap it on EI too, hell EI is money they take from you then maybe give it back if you need it at some point at a discounted amount and you still get taxed from it.

As a senior my question would be is he ever going to run out of money to give away? How is it going to be paid back? Someone is paying for the next 20 to 30 years. Why did he not just increase personal income tax deduction for everyone ? Keep it simple ......... ?
